Willemstad
This is part of the Netherlands, where they use Florins as currency, but accept USD routinely and probably Euros as well. The town is called Willemstad and is a marvel of cleanliness and has a largely friendly and kind population, mostly involved in the tourist trade. This was the off-season, but cruise ships seem to know no seasons and are happily accommodated by the townspeople all year long. |

I had two serious issues with the island. One of them are these vicious turnstiles in the front and back of the bus. Try getting on and off the bus with a backpack, and in my case, also a front pack. It's hell, I tell you. Seriously, quite a challenge. And I'm not alone in this. I watched large ladies with shopping bags and purse having one heck of the time squeezing through those things. |

I took the bus from the airport, which gives you a nice tour of town, half of it, anyway. |
